A selection of textured airbrush paintings from Massachusetts-born, New York-based artist (previously featured ). Based on sketches initially molded in clay, Blair’s latest collection plays with shape, size, colour, and abstraction to offer up a kind of purposeful chaos. The titles of each piece (excerpts from a fictional autobiographical tell-all) as well as the name of the show (recovered from an old childhood drawing) similarly contribute to a sensorial confusion that nevertheless appears to adhere to a logic and rhythm all its own. In Blair’s words:
“Not to put too fine a point on it, but maybe this highly specific and slightly fucked up but hopefully funny thing is what’s happening in abstract painting. Or not.”
